presentation report

On Monday 3rdJune 2013, I observed a presentation in class F-16 done by Saleem AlAmry. The presentation was about smoking. Saleem started his presentation very well; he spoke about the harm of smoking and from what the cigarette is made of, but he seemed a little scared in the beginning. It was obvious that Saleem hadn’t had enough time to prepare for the presentation because every sentence he said was like reading it from the board. In the middle Saleem had a huge translating mistake when he translated a word that he didn’t know it came up with another word and that’s ok because no one is perfect and it’s not Saleem’s mother language. Overall the presentation was very clear because he included the harm of smoking and some good ideas to quit smoking. Saleem needs to have more time to spend on his presentation to be better and to try to correct the mistakes.

Report on the presentation

In class F16 on May 06, 2013 I had my presentation. It was about my favorite car (Nissan Patrol).  I rely in my presentation on the information that I had because of the history of the Patrol with me. Since I had my license I bought the early Patrol and as it goes, so I thought to share my knowledge with the students.
At the beginning of the presentation I was little uncomfortable because I thought that it wouldn’t get the attention of the students. I tried to make myself confident. Faisal interrupted mein the middle of my presentation and when I answered him I held myself back. I thought that the presentation had the attention of the students because I knew that they like racing and the modificationsso I put some videos about racing where the Nissan defeated a Ferrari. Overall I think that my presentation wasn’t perfect from me because it didn’t include a lot of information. I think the background of my presentation was very good because it takes the history of the lord of the four wheels with three examples of it in the background. There were no animations in the presentation.
In the end I think that the students now know about Nissan and I think that one of them wants to buy a Nissan because he asked me a lot of other questions about the car, and that makes me happy because it seems that they got interested in the presentation.

report on meeting

Personal reflection on meeting

I have observed a meeting that contained 3 students acting as manager and his secretary and an experienced man that would help them in the problem of the parking area in the ADMC. Mohammed Thani as the manager , Saleem Salem as his secretary that will take the notes, and finally  Abdullah Rashid as the experienced man. The meeting started by identifying them and identified the problem  and showed the possible solution that will solve the problem or at least it will reduce it. Abdullah had some brilliant suggestions that were: first they have to include the police in the ADMC because the problem is 70% from the students and if they see the police patrol they will try to park properly. Second, is that the college should build another level of parking or try to use the free area to build more parking area, but the chairman Mohammed said that if we build another level it will make the problem worse so Abdullah told him that he should change the play ground to a park area till they finish the project and in this period of time they could rent area in the AlJazeera club. Finally, we could use the violation that the student will get from the police to link it with his study plan or his academic form and it will affect his marks. The chairman also added that there is a machine that has been developed in China which takes the area of three parking and give nearly 10 areas. Before the meeting closed Saleem added that there is no lighting in the park area and Abdullah replied that the college has to put a big prize for a group of students who will build a good lighting plan that works on the sun power to help increase the good green resources in the environment.

The chairman started and finished the meeting in a good way. Abdullah was effective in his answers and he looked like he was well prepared for the meeting. The meeting had a fantastic solution and we hope that it will solve the parking problem.

In-class meeting: agenda, minutes & recommendations

Problem: Parking Area In HCT Campus

Venue

Date of meeting: 18th March 2013
Time of meeting: 16:30
Venue: F16
Group members:
Chair: Mohammed Thani.
Secretary: Saleem Salim.
Participant: Abdullah Rashid.
Venue preparation:
Grouping of chairs round tables

Agenda:

·         Few parking areas.

·         No lighting in the parking area .

·         Improper use of parking by students.

·         There is no space between the parking.

Minutes

1.    Abdullah thinks that the problem is with the few parking an places, but the problem is with the students because they use the parking area in a improper way. So to solve this problem Abdullah suggested that we have to involve the police to get the students to park their cars in a proper way.

2.    Abdullah added that there are non-used areas in the campus, so we can build extra parking areas there.

3.    The chairman Mohamed suggested that they build a parking building that can contain more cars, but Abdullah interrupted Mohamed by adding that we should provide golf carts for the students to deliver them to their class.

4.    Also Mohamed says that there is a machine that can take only 3 parking spaces to provide 10 parking space.

5.    Abdullah came back with an idea that we can build another level of parking area in the present parking area, and Mohamed proposed that we can take the playing ground and convert it to parking till we finish the new car parking building and he suggested renting in the al Jazeera club.

6.    Abdullah also thinks that we should penalize students who use parking in an improper way and link the violation to the student’s record.

7.    The chairman said that also we have a problem of lighting in the parking area, so Abdullah says we have to motivate the students to build lights that work by the sun’s energy.

Recommendations:

1-    The first solution is that we will rent the stadium in the Al Jazeera club and use the playground area for parking and build a second level on the existed parking area behind the mosque.

2-     We recommend to choose the penalty system and to link it with the student record.

3-    Also we have to light up the parking area by using renewable energy and by motivating the student to build those lights

interview Assessment

Saleem Al Amri H00134725 was interviewed for a job; the interviewers were Hedley, Abdullah Rashid H00237186, and Mohammed Thani H000128009. At the beginning Saleem was comfortable and he was confident about himself; he gave a full description about himself. Saleem is a 23 years old ambitious man. He has finished his diploma in the Higher College of Technology. But he hasn’t been treated well in his previous job. After a few minutes interviewing it looked like Saleem started to hesitate and he started to lose his confidence with the unexpected questions that he had. Saleem’s preparation was to answer all the questions that were related to how well he will do in the job and if it was worth employing him. But, Saleem didn’t know anything about the company background; he only knew about the most popular thing, that ADNOC is an oil company. Abdullah the interviewer asked Saleem the hardest question, which was “What is ADNOC Company?” Saleem didn’t see that coming , so he was very uncomfortable with the question, but he did manage himself to react fast and reverse the question, and that was a good point. Finally, I think that Saleem deserves this job because of his education and his self-confidence; also he is ambitious and that would help him to start innovating in the company, and it seems that Saleem has the quality of a leader, because whenever he faces any hard question he could find a solution that assures us that he is worth the job.
